Project Description

Rundle Place is located in the heart of Adelaide’s premier shopping location.  The project brief was to develop a four level retail development connecting Rundle Mall with Grenfell Street and an 11 tower office building built above the retail development.

Titan Cranes were engaged to work with Hansen Yuncken on this project and supply the tower cranage.  Titan Cranes began work on the project in Sept 2011 and three Jaso J280 cranes were utilised on site at any one time. The project finished completion in 2013.

Due to the narrow working site, only small loading bays could be used and often this meant working out lifting solutions between the three cranes on site.  For example, crane 1 was required to pass materials and precast to crane 2 and then crane 2 would move items to crane 3 for final placement.

During the project, 2 cranes used static base, tied and climb to achieve the final height required. Both cranes were situated on podium level 5 to complete the office tower to allow the retail section to open and operate during the office development stage.

One crane was dismantle from it final height at approximately 110m (height under hook).  This took extensive coordination given the conditions surrounding the site and city areas.

Titan Cranes worked well with the client to achieve the final outcome required.
